Indonesia, as the world's largest halal market consumer, sees rising demand for halal products, projected to reach $281.6 billion by 2025. Despite mandatory halal certification, only 5.3 million products are certified, far from BPJPH’s 10 million target. Challenges include limited halal-certified raw materials, shared production facilities, and lack of business readiness in meeting certification requirements. These issues hinder compliance and consumer trust, making halal certification crucial for market competitiveness. Strengthening halal assurance will boost Indonesia’s role in the global halal industry.
